At Rio our mission is to lead people into a growing relationship with Christ. We believe the best way to do this is through healthy churches–redemptive communities of believers who share the Gospel with their lives and words. We also believe a church can only grow to a certain size before it loses a certain vital sense of community and all the benefits that come with it. This means that in order for Rio to pursue our mission effectively and be good stewards of the growth God has given us we must maximize this platform so that we might also plant more healthy churches around our city.
But this isn’t just a case of church planting being the most efficient way to get the job done. It’s also what the Bible tells us to do! It’s also the means by which the Church spread throughout the world in the first century!
On this page, you will find material on the subject of church planting from Tim Keller, pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church. We believe that Tim does an excellent job presenting the biblical case for church planting, so we’re sharing the material here for any who wish to dig deeper.
